Cmb Mentorship Programme
The Cmb Mentor Program is a forum for students who want the opportunity to engage in a valuable exchange of experiences with skilled leaders from different parts of the built environment sector – and for professionals who want to build meaningful connections with tomorrow’s leaders, develop their skills as mentors and leaders, and gain deeper insight into the industry they work in. The purpose of the program is to create the conditions for a dialogue that helps both mentor and mentee clarify their motivations and grow in their leadership.
The mentor program is primarily aimed at students enrolled in the Master’s programme Design and Construction Project Management (DCPM) at Chalmers, and secondly at students from other relevant Master’s programmes at Chalmers. The program is intended for students in their second year of study.
To become a mentor, you should currently hold a leadership position (not necessarily a managerial role) within one of cmb’s more than 70 partner organisations and have at least a few years of professional experience. You also need to feel comfortable communicating in English, as the Master’s programmes welcome international students – and so do we. If English-speaking students are admitted to the program, group meetings will be held in English.
The mentor program includes two mandatory gatherings attended by all mentors and mentees, as well as an optional number of individual meetings between mentor and mentee (4–8 meetings are recommended). The program is built on active engagement from both mentor and mentee. As a mentee, you are expected to take responsibility for maintaining contact with your mentor, come prepared to your meetings, and actively contribute to discussions based on your goals and questions.
As the number of places is limited, it is important that applicants have the ability to prioritise and commit to participating throughout the entire program. To ensure the best possible matches, the selection process is based on the written application as well as short interviews with prospective mentees. Interviews are planned to take place on 26 August between 09:00–12:00 (reserve date: 27 August). Admission and mentor matching will thereafter be communicated via email.
Applications for the mentor program for Autumn 2026 / Spring 2027 are open until 23 August 2026.
The number of participants is limited to approximately 12–16 people.
